David P. Roe is a former Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving Vermont's 1st congressional district from January 4, 2005, to January 3, 2021. During his time in Congress, Roe was known for his focus on healthcare issues, particularly in relation to veterans and the military. He served on several committees, including the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, where he advocated for improved services for veterans and their families.
I know the ranking member also has a bill on this as well and I look forward to working with him to combine our two pieces of legislation.
I think the cubs are going to win the world series before that hospital is finished in Orlando, Florida.
I think we have noticed--I mean, we know that literally there are people trying to hack into these systems, foreign governments, I mean, we had that testimony right here in this committee.
I think VA somewhat has done that, but to take the RAC, to get the Institute of Medicine to study this like you would any other issue and then come to a conclusion, whatever it is, and whatever the conclusion is.
This bill would require the VA to improve and finish the IT systems that adjudicates G.I. Bill and VR&E claims.
My bill would authorize the Secretary to prioritize VR&E services based on need so that they are able to triage cases as they come in based upon the severity of the veteran's disability or on other factors as determined by the Secretary.
The homeless issue is one that I will continue to work on with you, Secretary, as long as I am here.
I think this is one of the biggest decisions, from the VA standpoint, technologically, that will be made in my tenure in congress.
I certainly hear a lot of very positive comments about the care that our veterans get in our area.
