I think we must expand Social Security so that every American can retire with dignity, the dignity that they have earned through their years and years of hard work.

You cannot overstate how bad that effect would be on the American people.

We spend twice as much per capita as any other country.

Our legislation applies the Social Security payroll tax on all income, including capital gains and dividends, for those who make over $250,000 a year.

This legislation will fully fund Social Security for the next 75 years and expand benefits for senior citizens and people with disabilities.

Raising the retirement age to 70 is just a 21 percent benefit cut.

Our job is to expand Social Security so that everyone in America can retire with the dignity that he or she deserves.

Without Social Security, it is estimated that some 22 million Americans, including more than 16 million seniors, would be living in poverty.

Expanding Social Security is the answer.

If a company lies to the FDA about its safety situation, at the same time it does massive stock buybacks, gives the CEO used compensation packages, are you going to fine them?

If a major corporation lies to the FDA about something as terribly important, the safety of infant formula, what are you going to do?

I hope that you will focus on increasing the number of companies who are producing so we don't run into this problem again.

I sure do. Look, what we're looking at is a nation today where the billionaire class, the people on top, are doing phenomenally well, Chuck. The middle class continues to decline.

But we are in agreement that if everybody in this country were guaranteed comprehensive health care, people would be freer to leave their jobs and do what they really wanted to do?

Now one of the reasons that Medicare For All is expensive is because it does what should be done, and that is make sure that every American has health care, provides quality care to all of our people.

The option that most resembles the Medicare For All bill that I introduced, which is option three, would save the health care system $650 billion a year beginning in 2030
