As I understand it, dozens of countries around the world either restrict or ban asbestos.

Imagine having a hulking mass of radioactivity in Southern Vermont deteriorating for 60 years. Nobody I know in Vermont wants that to happen.

The fact that licensees like Entergy could adopt a decommissioning plan that ignores the interests and needs of Vermonters and leaves the State with no recourse is fundamentally unfair and unreasonable.

A nation will not survive morally or economically when so few have so much and so many have so little.

What this amendment says is that if Senators vote for another war, this time they will have to raise taxes to pay for it. No more wars on the credit card. Vote yes.

In the year 2015, it is unacceptable that women are still earning substantially less than men for doing the same work.

It seems to me that we have the obligation to pass legislation which in fact protects the people of this Country, especially our children.

I strongly support what Senator Markey and Senator Boxer are trying to accomplish.

But it would seem to me if one is concerned about preserving your way of life that one must be a leader in the fight against climate change.

We need to cut carbon emissions. We have to transform our energy system away from fossil fuel.

Climate change has been significantly accelerated in recent years. The evidence is it's caused by human activity.

If we do not get our act together and significantly cut carbon emissions that problem will only become much worse.

What about the point about you aren't or some of you at least, are in favor of more production of fossil fuel which is ultimately destroying the very communities that your people live in.

The scientific community is virtually unanimous in telling us that climate change is real.
