I wouldn't say I am more optimistic or less optimistic. I am stunned every day.

No, I don't think our job is to work with them to repeal the legislation. What our job is to work with them to improve the legislation.

I think it's time to take a reassessment of the purpose of where the Democratic Party is and where it wants to go.

Almost 3 years ago, Congress passed a bipartisan farm bill that made a significant contribution to deficit reduction.

Are they right in their concerns? Can somebody comment on the situation of making sure we get clean water to people in this country?

I think it is appropriate that in a Nation which is spending $650 billion on the military, yes, that over a 10-year period we can invest $1 trillion in rebuilding our infrastructure.

I am not sympathetic to giving huge tax breaks to Wall Street or the large multinational corporations who invest in our infrastructure.

I proposed a $1 trillion investment, and at that point that was thought, by Republicans and Democrats, to be a wild and crazy idea.

I think there is bipartisan agreement that we have not invested in our infrastructure.

I had the opportunity to be in Flint, Michigan, a year or so ago, and what I saw there made me disbelieve that I was living in the United States of America.

We are the richest country in the history of the world.

I would hope very much that on this issue there could be a coming together to address what almost everybody understands is a national crisis.

But just put it into the Republican platform. I stand corrected.

In other words, the campaign, the Trump campaign, campaigned on reinstating Glass-Steagall.

President Trump campaigned on the fact that he was going to take on Wall Street.

I think those are immoral decisions.

What this is really about--and we should be honest about it--is that people like the Koch brothers, second wealthiest family in America, have spent hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars to get benefits like this.

Why do you think it is a good idea to throw 23 million people off of health insurance, to cut nutrition programs for low-income pregnant women and their babies?

It is an immoral budget. It is a budget that must be defeated by the U.S. Congress.

This budget follows in the footsteps of the Trump-Ryan health care bill, which gives massive tax breaks to the people on top.

If financial institutions are too big to fail, they are too big to exist. It is time to break them up.
