I appreciate the Ranking Member--thank you so much. I serve on the House Armed Services Committee, and it is very sobering to hear the Chairman, or former Chairman, of the Joint Chiefs testify that the greatest threat to this country is our national debt and interest on our national debt.

I think it hurts the House. I think it's a loss for Illinois and I think it's a loss for our country. We need more men and women who are courageous, like Adam is.
But this is clearly the most egregious example of basically a quid pro quo and the negative that is if you do something, I'll take something away.
