I thank my friend for his leadership in this critical area, and for having us out here tonight to talk about the tremendous opportunity to really shape the direction of our country in such a positive way by responsibly opening up our coastal regions for energy exploration. The potential is great in job creation. 25,000 local jobs in the Hampton Roads area--that is southeast Virginia, jobs that would be going to some of those who need so desperately to have job opportunities, for our veterans who are coming out of our military right there in Norfolk and in Virginia Beach and other areas of our district. Let me frame this discussion, Mr. Speaker, with this quote. It was said in this very Chamber. ``This country needs an all-out, all-of-the- above strategy that develops every available source of American energy.'' Mr. Speaker, that was shared by President Obama in 2012. So, in words and in speeches, it surely looks like there is common ground. Now, there is a disconnect in what the President's been saying and what the truth is and what reality is. We will get to that in just a moment.…
