I was proud to have it reauthorized and I appreciate Committee Members who support us.

I believe very strongly that it is appropriate and responsible to have communications between the intel community and the social media platforms on a voluntary basis focused on foreign malign influence.

Because we and our House counterparts are literally the only eyes and ears the American public has between them and the secrets our government holds.

It is this foreign interference that could cause every citizen in this country to stop believing, not just in their institutions of government, but in their own voice.

The Federal Government must be a partner in that effort.

Americans on either end of the political agenda have much less faith in many of our institutions, and unfortunately, much less faith in particular in the integrity of our electoral--of our election system.

There are four reasons why this is the case. I am talking about now interference from foreign malign influence.

It would be naive to underestimate that we are dealing with a threat of a different magnitude.

And to the question, are not the AI tools ability to do that at scale so much greater than a traditional individual market manipulator of even 5 years ago?

I concur, and I think the notion that there could be seven or eight or ten different standards that each platform chose may not get us there.

I tend to view immigration, especially with people with high STEM backgrounds, as an outstanding American tradition.

Give us your brilliant people who want to come here and make the world a better place.

A lot of this was due to the fact of abuse of consumers, and frankly, a lot of it was sometimes in the case of making sure that our financial institutions did not discriminate against any group of Americans.
