Today's hearing is about the Federal Government's most important resource: 2.1 million employees.

If the Chinese dominate those areas, the future is theirs.

I wouldn't bet the farm on any kind of rapid regulatory regime coming from the Federal Government.

Congress has been very reluctant to get into the game of regulation.

The Federal Government has a historic, necessary, and appropriate role guiding and investing research development for new and emerging technologies.

I look forward to future bipartisan collaboration as we define the problem sets associated with AI design solutions and that promote innovation while simultaneously mitigating the dangers and risks inherent in AI technology.

I found this an intriguing conversation, but wanting more.

I did not think this evacuation was executed in a way that reflected the extraordinary sacrifices of our U.S. servicemembers and our Afghan allies.

I categorically reject any comparison of the Afghanistan war to what is currently going on in Ukraine.

I continue, though, to have very deep concerns about the number of Afghan allies that were left behind.

It was not President Biden who decided to meet with the Taliban and to exclude the government we were supporting from those negotiations in Doha. It was President Trump.

I couldn't agree with you more. I think that is really important.

It is sobering and very moving to hear you... we need to bear that responsibility.

This bill would grant 6(c) benefits to VA Police Officers as well as law enforcement officers of other federal agencies who do not have 6(c) benefits.

They are designed to allow conspiracy theories and election interference to run rampant online.

What this is truly designed to do... is allowing for all sorts of unprotected speech to be distributed.

We know as a fact, supported by evidence, that Russia did interfere in the 2016 election.

The problem is that there is no evidence, there is no factual support for the need for these bills.

This is not about the First Amendment. This is gaslighting.

China has managed to become a great country but not always through noble means. It has stolen intellectual property.

And I want to thank my friend, Mrs. Wagner, for her leadership on the is Taiwan legislation and join here in urging our colleagues to vote for it today.
