But as Ms. Tucker pointed out, we have cut their budget $350 million.

We believe a dollar invested with the IRS is a good investment because we are the funding arm for this Country.

This Country struggling with its debt, breaking out in sweat over the fiscal cliff.

So a very, very good return on investment.

A $350 million reduction? Is that what you said, Ms. Tucker?

If we don't sort of change this trajectory, over the next five years the estimated loss due to identity theft alone is $21 billion.

The IRS has now become like a bank. Remember the famous bank robber who said why do you rob banks, because that is where the money is?

Well, apparently they think they can.

We ought to consider changing that governing structure so that Virginians have more of a say.

I think it has everything to do with today's hearing.

I also applaud Secretary LaHood's proactive leadership and his commitment not only to overseeing but, more importantly, actively assisting MWAA in implementing those needed reforms.

I commend the leadership of Congressmen Wolf and Latham in requesting that IG Scovel initiate an audit of MWAA operations.

I applaud both Congressman Wolf and Congressman Latham in their efforts to shine light on this troubling revelation.

I certainly support voting rights for the District of Columbia.

I think we ought to hold ourselves to the same standards of the efficiencies that can be achieved through competition.

You have approached issues with judicious analysis, you have avoided strident headlines, you have avoided bitter partisanship.

We are trying to transition from Qadhafi to something we hope is more democratic.

So we are having this hearing as those investigations have not completed their work or provided their findings?

It is very serious business when tragedies occur in a dangerous world.

It seemed a very volatile situation in terms of too many people with too many weapons, lots of militia.

I am distressed that the administration is not sending witnesses at the request of the subcommittee.

I just don't think that is acceptable.
