Political Quotes

Both political parties claim Thomas Jefferson and much of his philosophy as a part of their historic tradition, and certainly I from Virginia am very proud of Thomas Jefferson. He said it best: "To compel a man," and of course today we mean men and women, but "to compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves is sinful and tyrannical," and that is what we are faced with in this country for the last 63 years because of legislation passed a long time ago that is outdated, certainly not in step with the vast majority of the American people who support right-to-work, and we need to pass this legislation.
