I thank the gentleman for his amendment, and I support it. Contrary to what the previous speaker said, this amendment does exactly that--it helps to determine more fairly and more quickly whether or not there is a valid patent claim. It requires parties sending demand letters who wish to pursue treble damages to disclose their ultimate parent entity. This amendment improves the provision offered by Mr. Chaffetz and Mr. Deutch in committee, and I support its inclusion in the bill.
