First of all, I thank the gentleman for his question, and I and others have been clear that we think these grandfather clauses should expire. When they first were adopted 16 years ago, it was with the intention that they be phased out. Of course, they have had 16 years, and we would like to have them do that. The SPEAKER pro tempore. I have consistently noted the dangers of unlicensed, untaxed, and unregulated internet gambling parlors which suck billions of dollars out of American citizens.
I think that it would be appropriate for the Congress to look at data collection practices beyond the scope of what this Committee is looking at here today.
The charge is abuse of power, but what the majority is really upset about is the fact that the President and the administration is exercising its power under the Constitution, its authorized powers.
The original intent being that which is held to be yours and reasonably expected to be for privacy must be returned to privacy.
