I think it is important, first of all, to look at the fact that, as I mentioned in my opening testimony, different communities have different circumstances.
Great question, without an easy answer. I think that you want to make sure you understand the cost implications, but I would also say also the reliability implications as well when you look at these policies.
One aspect of Federal policy that would be meaningful for electric co-ops is we are non-for-profit entities.
I do think it is important, your statement that we should continue with fossil fuel research.

If the United States leads in that opportunity and develops that technology here, I think that that may have the impact globally over time.
The rural co-ops and, I might add, the rest of the electric utility sector, support this bill. It's an important bill for a number of reasons.
Farmer Mac is requesting that its charter be updated to reflect today's farming and ranching operations.
I think that Mr. Pompeo's legislation rightly encourages the FDA to move forward on that issue, and give clarity that issue, and I think that is important.
Seems to me in this hearing we are talking about this consumer right to know. I find it interesting, this is on an issue where everyone has acknowledged there is no health or safety risk here.
