Bob Bennett is a former Republican U.S. Senator from Utah, who served from 1993 to 2011. He was the first Utah senator to be elected to three consecutive terms. During his time in office, Bennett was known for his moderate stance on various issues, including healthcare and fiscal responsibility. He played a significant role in the Senate Appropriations Committee and was involved in efforts to reform the U.S. healthcare system. Bennett was defeated in the 2010 Republican primary, which marked the end of his political career in the Senate. He has remained active in political discussions and has contributed to various policy initiatives since leaving office.
I think the USAspending.gov, the Coburn-Obama Bill, was a very good step in the right direction.
If I can for three seconds be President of the United States, OMB should have ownership of this.
I also want to thank Senator Collins for her graciousness in welcoming me to the Committee.
One of the things that is wrong with this whole business of Federal procurement is that a number of businesses simply will not play.
