I had the opportunity to be there on the border and to listen to some of the thousands of people who are streaming across that border every day and hear their desire to be freed from oppression and to have a chance for a better life.

I think the improvement of our relationship with the nation of India is one of the most positive developments in foreign relations over the last several years.

I think the number one most important thing is it is crucial to maintain a strong U.S. presence in the Indo-Pacific region.

What has helped accomplish that, or what has provided the foundation for that progress is commitment of free nations to work together.

Budget uncertainty, largely because of Congress and the previous administration, has caused enormous problems for the Department of Defense.

I believe that the Pentagon can get by with a lot less money if we had a full audit.

The F-35 is unbelievably over budget.

The number one lesson of the last 18 years, if you let up the pressure they are going to spring back and they will spring back quickly.

I think there is a bipartisan opinion on this committee that we should not be taking Department of Defense dollars out of military construction.
