Thank you, Madam Chairwoman. I want to thank the Chairwoman and Ranking Member for including my bill in today's markup, H.R. 7664.

I urge my colleagues to support the bill.

Small businesses are scared to death of new government agencies, and when you start talking about hiring more, hiring more, that really worries small businesses.

Small business is the heart of our economy, and they are getting buried right now.

This request is further proof that President Biden's SBA is completely out of touch with main street.

Help him. He needs help. He does not need to worry about the climate change which is not even part of what you are staffed to do.

The rollout of the Save Our Stages program... was disastrous.

The head of the SBA, regardless of party preference or whoever the president is, should always be for less taxes and less government.

These policies are killing, not will, but are killing Main Street America, I can tell you that.

Race should not play a part in credit decisions.

So on top of all this, we have people wanting to diminish the amount of negative information reported to the credit bureaus that are used by financial institutions to accurately assess the credit risk of borrowers.

This will undoubtedly make a person more hesitant to repossess a car, even though it is their money on the line when a person misses his payments.

In Texas, we often say, 'a deal is a deal.' But now it seems to be if one side doesn't want to uphold their end of the bargain, they go to the government to intervene on their behalf.

Rather than holding the individual accountable, they believe financial institutions should be forced to fund these unsecured, short-term loans at no cost.

We see this as Democrats are demanding that people should not have to pay their student loans, effectively turning them into grants, and leaving taxpayers on the hook with billions in losses.

Exasperation is not a substitute for sound economic analysis.

The Biden administration continues to show their complete disregard for the real issues facing America's small businesses.

What can we do to support you as you try to fight off the Biden administration and their army of regulators that hold our small business owners in such contempt?

I appreciate that attitude.

Does increasing compliance burdens and costs on small businesses help them to succeed?

Businesses are already working within tight margins and compliance costs could be their tipping point.

American Action Form recently reported, and we have heard it today, that last year alone the Biden administration had over 130 million new compliance hours.

However, the Biden administration is creating new and unnecessary regulations.

As a small business owner for over 50 years, I know firsthand that the free market gives businesses the opportunity to compete and grow.

Just a bit of raising taxes is not a winnable position, I don't think, and that is where I stand, and where a lot of people stand.
