If everybody just has one car, we are going to have blackouts, brownouts all over the country.

I want to thank you for holding this hearing on what is probably one of the most important words in the dictionary, especially to youngsters 18 years old, high school, college graduates, and that word is energy.

Some of those concerns have been raised by the Attorney General of Texas. He has filed some 30 suits, I think, against this Administration, who seems like can't tell the truth, can't even call a terrorist a terrorist.

Would you agree that there isn't a single utility scale power plant in the world currently operating with CCS?

What has changed so dramatically in one year to allow the EPA to reach a different conclusion on the technical and economic feasibility of CCS?

Probably other than 'prayer,' it is the most important word in the dictionary for young people.

Our nation depends on an all-of-the-above energy strategy, and the use of technologies like hydraulic fracturing have been an important role in helping achieve energy security.

This is another example of the government picking winners and losers. We are the losers.

I have 700,000 people that I have to report to. And I think about 690,000 of them hate the Obama law.

We need to be aware of it and abreast of it and never forget it and looking at it every day, but we need to be reasonable about what we have to spend with no help from people that ought to be assisting us.

The renewable fuel standard has been successful in bringing biofuels into the transportation fuel supply here in the U.S., but the approaching, quote, ``blend wall,'' unquote, raises a lot of unanswered questions, and we need to be careful…

the challenges we face, specifically some climate challenges, are not just our challenges; it is world challenges.

climate change has cost the taxpayers $33 to $34 to $35 billion so far and we have gotten very little out of that.

Well, it hasn't been. It hadn't been based on science, and we have proven that many times.

I think we can be energy independent in this country, and I think it is a goal we should pursue.

I just think that it is obvious that we have an administration that is antienergy.

The most important word in the dictionary today other than 'prayer' for young people is the word 'energy.'

I think certainly several examples such as--Dimock, Pennsylvania; Parker County, Texas; and Pavillion, Wyoming that the Chairperson alluded to where it appears that the agency is more interested in rushing judgment and placing information…

I am very pro-fossil fuels, I am pro-energy, pro-any source that might keep us from having to rely on countries that we really couldn't rely on if circumstances changed just a little bit.

I think they are the worst enemy of any nation's opportunity to get ahead and provide the energy that we have and that we need.

I support the bill's overall thrust. I support telling the President that we don't agree with him on crossing the State on the international boundary because of the influence that this amount of money and jobs would mean to all of us.

We spent $34 billion and we haven't changed one iota.

I certainly look forward to your leadership on this because it is imperative that EPA's regulatory science be judged by truly independent experts.
