I hope this resolution will serve as a reminder as to why this relationship is so important.

As chairman of the U.S.-Mexico IPG, I have seen firsthand the power of legislative diplomacy.

It reaffirms a strong commitment to the U.S.-Mexico partnership.

This bipartisan resolution was introduced by myself and Ranking Member Eliot Engel.

I want to first highlight the U.S.-Mexico resolution.

At a time when cyber landscape is becoming complex and dangerous, we should be sharpening the tools in our toolkit.

I thank Congressman Crowley, and I thank Ranking Member Engel for their good work on this measure.

The United States will always be there for people in need.

I see this as perhaps the biggest threat that we face through the radical Islamists.

Today, our committee is meeting to discuss TSA's role in keeping our transportation systems secure.

I am also greatly concerned with what I see as a dangerous and tragic retreat when it comes to our counter-narcotics efforts in Afghanistan.

The President also said that we will work with the Afghan Government only as long as we see determination and we see progress.

Women will have an important role to play in Afghanistan's future, and I hope to hear how our new strategy will leverage that to achieve even greater success.

I do think Congress has to play a much more important role.

The United States should not be relied upon to bear the full burden. Others must contribute to our mutual success.

I support the President's determination to integrate all elements of American power--diplomatic, military, economic, and political--to protect our interests and achieve our objectives.

It is time that we start acknowledging the obvious.

I cannot afford to wait 10 years to have the Army Corps of Engineers build this reservoir.

When communities are dealing with disaster recovery, the Federal Government should not be an obstacle to overcome, but a resource to help people put their lives back together.

I remain grateful to Administrator Long and the men and women of FEMA for working with our Governor, our first responders to coordinate the extensive Federal response.

Our first responders answered countless calls, sprung to action, saving, again, 20,000 lives.

This hurricane unleashed a fury on my home State and devastated many homes and communities in and around the district.

I think this is one of the most complex challenging foreign policy issues of our time and whenever a power becomes a nuclear power you can't take it away from them.

But as a Texan, I must say, in closing, go Astros.

It is very important to me. That is why I am here.
