Today's issues are weighty, and they are complex, and should not be partisan if they are approached with the gravity and diligence that they deserve.
It is also imperative, I believe, that we repeal and replace these AUMFs simultaneously to ensure that there is no lapse in critical counterterrorism authorities.
I think it would be better to do this with a little more time to get this right and make it bipartisan.
