It’s really a sad day in this country that this is the guy that is leading our nation.

There are those that believe I have an underground railroad popping off in Texas, and that I’ve been telling all the Black folk on the underground railroad, ‘Don’t do this or don’t do that,’ and it’s so far from the truth.

It’s not about who sounds as clean as possible. It is about tapping into the rawness of this moment.

I’m not necessarily convinced — not that I could tell you the name of one person on this jury — that we had 12 impartial White folk out of Collin County sitting on a jury for this young black man.
