I can’t really afford to be scared. When I know that I walk in my position only because of those that came before me, such as John Lewis -- I had the pleasure of being with two of his brothers today -- I can’t be worried about that. All I have got to do is continue to fight for democracy.

Instead of just saying, ‘We’re currently in a shutdown,’ you decided to play partisan politics on an official website, and I guess there is no limit to what they won’t do, because they do the exact same thing when we walk into committee.
The vast majority on that side of the aisle… are White men. White men are lecturing people of color because the vast majority, actually any semblance of diversity comes from this [Democratic] side of the aisle.
