I'm pleased that the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee is taking a close look at NASA's Earth science and climate change work.

I'm pleased that the Biden Administration is taking aggressive steps to address the climate crisis.

Science must remain at the center, both in our continuing work to understand climate change, but also in our efforts to mitigate it.

Climate change has gone from study to crisis.

Our U.S. universities continue to lead the world in cutting-edge fundamental research.

We are at an inflection point for U.S. research and innovation leadership.

To me, it is clear that the development of a high-speed rail system not only in my State of Texas but across this great Nation would provide tremendous economic and environmental benefits while simultaneously decreasing traffic congestion…

Americans deserve to have the best high-speed rail system in the world, and that is what this project offers.

Their hard work and support have been critical to the continued success of the project.

The Texas High-Speed Train not only enjoys strong support across the US on local, state and national levels, it also has geopolitical importance.

Preventing the negative impacts of this project congestion is one of the reasons why I am a strong proponent of the Texas Central project.

Without the vision and strong bipartisan support of leaders like Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, Congresswoman Kay Granger, Congressman Colin Allred, and Congressman Seth Moulton on this committee, this project would not be ready to…

I have often repeated my belief that NASA is a crown jewel of the Nation's research and development enterprise.

We must also be more inclusive in our policy-making for science and technology.

It was the first comprehensive reauthorization of NSF in a decade.

One item that I believe needs to be incorporated into a model for improving our wastewater systems is to adopt renewable energy technologies.

I represent a coastal district in California, and we have seen our fair share of extreme weather events due to climate change.

the time to make adaptation and mitigation decisions is now.

Beyond a doubt, all Americans need to have access to clean water, and making substantive improvements to our nation's wastewater systems would benefit not only our nation's need for clean water but also provide tremendous environmental…
