It is critically important to make sure that everyone is benefitting from this legislation.

I am hoping that we will provide some robust funding for Reconnecting Communities.

It seems clear to me that the IIJA is already a success and has the potential to make monumental improvements to our nation's transportation system.

I would just encourage the Secretary and the leadership at DOT to stay focused on ensuring that these funds are getting out to local communities as quickly as possible.

Communities of color are disproportionately vulnerable to the impacts of climate change caused by increased greenhouse gas emissions.

Failing to accurately measure our emissions will undermine our ability to achieve effective climate solutions.

Ultimately, however, we will need to enact policy to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.

Thank you to everyone for joining us today to discuss a topic with enormous implications for the future of our planet.

If America is to reach its methane reduction targets and live up to its climate promises such as the Global Methane Pledge, oil and gas sector methane mitigation must be informed by science.

Reducing atmospheric methane levels is an important way to slow the rate of climate change in the short-term.

There is broad agreement among scientists that reducing methane emissions from oil and gas operations is the simplest, most cost-effective, and most technically feasible methane emissions reduction option at this time.

Building a STEM workforce equipped to meet the needs of this country's emerging industries is an urgent national challenge.

The EV workforce is essential to the future of this country.

Our shortage of STEM workers is holding us back.

I strongly encourage the STB to include the use of passenger rail on this line as a condition when deciding this case.

It is up to us in Congress to begin implementing the innovative technologies and policies that are already available to us to address climate change.

Global emissions must peak within the next 3 years to ensure we stay below 1.5 degrees Celsius of global warming in the next century.
