I encourage you all, if we can address the issues of Section 163 and not make it binding where it will be illegal for me to communicate in an official capacity with my constituency, I would encourage you to fix that or vote this bill down.

I do not think you are going to have a debate that English proficiency is something that I think enables and empowers individuals.

I have never understood the motivations of those who believe either our country or our language needs to be 'protected' by a law like H.R. 997.

What Mr. King's bill tries to do is not protect the English language, but to encourage us to have some basic commonality of communication.

I hope that there will be a bipartisan bill introduced, obviously, in the Senate in June that will overhaul wartime contracting practices, and that we in the House will act accordingly and support our Senate colleagues.

Many of the most vocal complaints about the first decade of this century centered around the practice of granting billions of dollars in no-bid contracts, especially during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I actually see that we are ignoring things that are systemic that took over a number of years to develop in this country.

I don't believe that this bill is the best method of accomplishing the building out of the Keystone Pipeline, which I support.

I support the building of the pipeline, and I also believe that given the proper timelines to look at all factors that eventually this application will be approved with recommendations.

I believe that paying someone else to donate for you is illegal and with this proven disclosure loophole, how do we know that foreign nationals haven't illegally contributed too?
