Thus, it is my hope the IRB report and our witness panel testimony will shed some light on lessons learned with JWST and lead to a successful flight and operations in March 2021.

As Members of this Committee, we have a responsibility to every taxpayer to ensure that government agencies, including NASA, are being good stewards and effective at managing our resources.

Congress needs to understand the unvarnished truth of the status of these programs today, as well as the plan going forward.

It is important to know the full impact of JWST breach on NASA and the American public as a whole.

I strongly believe in the mission of NASA, and I commend the tremendous dedication of the NASA and industry team under Mr. Bridenstine.

However, not improving the Nation's civil space situational awareness and space traffic management framework is unacceptable.

I support the President's Space Policy Directive-3. And while I am at it, I support 1 and 2 as well.

If space exploration is going to continue to earn the public's trust, then contractors will have to deliver on time and on budget.

I will do everything in my power as Chairman of the Subcommittee to support NASA and American leadership in human space exploration.

The International Space Station, or the ISS, is the crown jewel of America's human spaceflight program.

It is time to develop a plan to protect ourselves from these events.

I remain open to new ideas relative to future operations, but obviously, we need a detailed and realistic, sustainable plan for any ISS transition in the future.

I would like to thank our witnesses for their testimony and look forward to getting a better understanding of where we are and what our prospects look like going forward.

We must also recognize the hazards of such partnerships.

I'm very eager to see how we can partner with the private sector to advance NASA's goals.

I think that is proof that DOT certain has the authority to grant a waiver to whomever they wish in this process.

Recently our office had sent a letter to the president asking for a delay for all sectors of the trucking industry until April 1st.

Supportive legislation by Representative Babin that would provide for a 2-year delay in the implementation of this controversial mandate.

Rolling back a lot of this overregulation I think is something that is very, very important.

It is imperative that we all look out for the small businessman because he is the one who is risking his lifeblood.
