Of the last year, we paid gross interest on the $7.3 trillion of $318 billion. If we do the math, that is, 17.8 percent of every dollar that comes into this town is going out in interest. That is a 17.8 percent mortgage on our country. If we just talk about the $4 trillion, the hard dollars, and take away the money we owe each other, we have got almost a 9 percent mortgage on the country now, and it is going up every single day.
