“I am concerned about fairness in this budget between millionaires and veterans. That is the fairness I am looking for. In this budget, there is a $27 billion tax cut for millionaires alone. What I am asking is the $27 billion we have for veterans for their health care, which is also in this budget, be increased by a mere $2.7 billion. How do I do it? Not by raising taxes. We are not talking about raising taxes. Each millionaire in this budget will get a $140,000 tax cut this year. We are simply suggesting maybe we could reduce that $140,000 to $112,000 so veterans are not going to have to wait in line up to 6 months to get health care today, so veterans who are concerned about whether their VA facility is going to close do not have to be concerned about it, so veterans who are being told today they are going to have to pay $250 to walk in the front door will be told, you don't have to worry about that anymore because now the millionaires only get $112,000 and you are going to be able to walk in the door without having to pay that fee. That is the fairness I am talking about.”
