Mike Rounds is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from South Dakota since January 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he previously held the position of the 31st governor of South Dakota from 2003 to 2011. During his tenure as governor, Rounds focused on issues such as economic development, education, and healthcare reform, and he was known for his efforts to improve the state's infrastructure.
