I'll just close with this, that I also understand that IHS relies on a Norwegian accrediting body, DNV GL, to maintain your accreditation at some of these hospitals throughout the region...

I believe that IHS should get out of the hospital business. I think they're terrible at it. I don't think they know what they're doing.
I'd much rather see Avera, Sanford, Rapid City Regional Health in these hospitals than AB Staffing solutions.
What frustrates me is this has somehow become a political issue, and I don't really understand that.
It would be foolish for us to sit here and say we don't need trade agreements.
My bill would empower seniors by allowing those enrolled in Medicare Part A to continue to contribute to their HSA.
Imposing the mandate penalty on tribes... will divert limited resource from other areas.
Compliance with this mandate could possibly cost the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in excess of $6 million annually.
The last thing the tribes in South Dakota need is a punitive tax penalty from the Federal Government.
I want to discuss several bills I am working on that I believe are common-sense improvements to the Tax Code.
To solve this problem, I have introduced H.R. 3080, the Tribal Employment and Jobs Protection Act, which would exempt tribal governments, businesses, and organizations from the employer mandate.
I thank the chairman for yielding. Mr. Speaker, today I support the National Bison Legacy Act because it is a very important bill to the tribes in my State and also to the heritage of South Dakota and the United States. It is a bill that I…
Today, we are talking about a bill that will bring integrity to the IRS, which will better serve our taxpayers into the future. I yield 2 minutes to the gentleman from Louisiana (Mr. Scalise).
I am proud to have a gentlemen here to speak on behalf of my bill who has been a strong leader in bringing integrity to the IRS. I yield 2 minutes to the gentleman from Nebraska (Mr. Smith).
I have a friend and colleague here today who has fought daily for years for hardworking taxpayers across America and for his home district. I am proud to yield 4 minutes to the gentleman from Texas (Mr. Sessions).
We have another colleague here on the floor today who serves on the Ways and Means Committee and has diligently worked on IRS issues and has been a leader on bringing some clarity to the situations that we deal with in trying to bring…
I yield myself such time as I may consume. Mr. Speaker, I have heard the gentleman's points on reducing the IRS' budget over the last several years, and we have done that. In fact, we have done that in the environment of where we have seen…
I am sitting here today in Congress, specifically just because of the Tax Code.
I didn't understand how we could have a law in this country that would take a family's business away.
the Federal Government has a trust responsibility to provide health care for Native Americans in the United States and Alaska Natives.
Out of the top 11 poorest counties in the nation, I have 5 of them in South Dakota, and they are all my Native American reservations.
But clearly, because they were exempted from the individual mandate, the intent of the law is clear that Native Americans should not face this kind of penalty, especially in areas like I have, in South Dakota, where they are impoverished…
this was not the intent of the law, to jeopardize them and their opportunities to provide for their families.
