There was a lot of interest among our members in doing something on the PEPFAR issue, and so that’s reflected in the substitute.

We need an electable candidate that can win not just a primary, but a general, and we believe there’s a path there for Cornyn to win both.
We’re not facing the number of judicial vacancies this Congress that we faced during President Trump’s first term.
One of the great achievements of President Trump’s first term was the confirmation of some 234 judges to the federal bench.
But I’m hopeful that that is not the position of the Democrat Party, the Democrat conference here in the Senate, and that we can work together in the coming weeks to pass bipartisan appropriations bills.
I’m disappointed to see Schumer implicitly threaten to shut down the government.
