Nikki Haley is an American politician and diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations from January 2017 to December 2018. She was the first female governor of South Carolina, holding office from January 2011 to January 2017. As governor, Haley focused on economic development, education reform, and job creation, and she gained national attention for her leadership during the aftermath of the Charleston church shooting in 2015, where she called for the removal of the Confederate flag from the statehouse grounds.
It is the whole reason they are there, so that they are not. It is to protect the rights, the freedoms, and the lives of United States citizens.
If we housed anything in a State, that is going to be more of a reason for them to want to go to that area to do something.
The problem is, what answer do I give to the people of South Carolina? Because those are the questions they are going to have.
The propaganda is not true, because they hate us because the terrorists will always hate America.
If you go and you put these detainees in South Carolina, you have just created a magnet.
I would dare to say any Governor, Republican or Democrat, would not want these detainees in their State.
The fear that every State has is, what is going to happen, when is it going to happen...
You are just putting another target, but now you are going to put it on Charleston, South Carolina.
Who is going to come vacation in a State that is now known to house these terrorists?
What company is going to invest in a State where they keep these heinous terrorists?
What does it do to the reputation of the State where you take these detainees?
Not only was it against Federal law to transfer Guantanamo detainees into the United States--and has been since 2010--but why would anyone want to put terrorists in Charleston?
Keep the terrorists where they are, where they belong. Do not bring them to my home.
