So I would urge the president to knock this off. This is the greatest democracy on earth. You're the leader of the free world and people are going to start doubting you as a person.

This shakes the confidence in our democracy and has the most inappropriate thing for the President to say without proof.

The laws around the law of war are designed to deal with conflicts and to take people off the battlefield.

The law is well settled here, that a United States citizen in other wars have been held as enemy combatants when the evidence suggests they collaborated with the enemy.

No American citizen has a constitutional right to join the enemy at a time of war.
