Well, again, your positive attitude just is reflected by the hope of Africa. That is great.

And I want to join with everyone commending Chairman Royce for his service.

I do applaud the Treasury's designation yesterday of four Hezbollah-affiliated terrorists in Iraq.

I especially want to thank Congressman Adam Kinzinger for introducing the Preventing Iranian Destabilization of Iraq Act of 2018.

This bill and amendment would require the President to impose sanctions on Iranian-backed or controlled militias that commit violence and threaten the stability of Iraq.

The challenge of regularity, hopefully Chairman Thornberry is going to get that corrected.

During that time, we have witnessed Western Europe's survival. We have seen Asia's economic boom. We have seen the collapse of the Soviet Union.

They never stopped their policies of 'death to America' and 'death to Israel.'

The President was very courageous to pull out of the flawed Iranian nuclear deal.

It's so positive to hear your messages.

It has also been a great honor for the subcommittee today to meet in the Sam Johnson Room of the Rayburn House Office Building.

I want to appreciate again our ranking member, Madeleine Bordallo, for her bipartisan leadership on behalf of national security.

I want to thank our witnesses for being here today. And also, I want to thank, of course, Tom Hawley for his leadership on maintaining the 5-minute rule.

We all think of military facilities as extraordinary acreage. And so to find out the centralized nature of what you are doing, it shows vision.

And Secretary McCarthy, you have already really addressed this, too. You are ahead of the curve.

And a concern that we have all had is to be able to change to the rapidly ever-changing technology. Do you feel like this can be achieved?

While I am hopeful, I am not yet persuaded that a new command is the right answer to the Army's acquisition challenges.

We recognize that the Army's intent is to improve and speed the modernization process.

I would like to welcome each of you to the hearing of the Readiness Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee on the new Army Futures Command.

It was my understanding it was a very high percentage and that whatever funding goes to the enterprise actually is to benefit the Cuban military and the oppression of the people of Cuba, not for what would be perceived as possible.

It is really sad to me that anyone who would go there would think that they might be promoting some level of freedom and democracy when they are not.

Let it be known to all that the United States will stand up to left wing and right wing dictators who oppress their people, deny people human rights, and stifle democracy.
