I'm sitting in Congress today because of a successful protest.

I think, frankly, it would be a catastrophe not to extend unemployment insurance.

This administration has not only failed to fix the problem, it has made things worse.

Our Federal Government has the resources, the manpower, and the legal authority under the Defense Production Act to procure the necessary supplies.

We need urgent action from the Federal Government to address these shortages now before more people are exposed.

We can't put ourselves in this position again. This bill is a good first step toward promoting a stronger manufacturing base for critical medical equipment.

And I believe this shows clearly the need for us to produce more PPE here in the United States, and I believe this could be a bipartisan issue.

I'm going to stick with the science.

I just want you to know you won't be checked.

Steadily declining COVID hospitalization rates should reduce daily hospital PPE usage.

The White House's own internal data, just released a few weeks ago, shows we still face shortages of tens of millions of N95 masks and gowns.

Why is it that the greatest Nation on Earth cannot get a 63-cent mask to everyone who needs one?

We are not going to have another meeting in a confined space for more than 15 minutes if we're not going to abide by this.

I'm not going to preside over a process that will revisit that or even continue it.

I have absolutely no control over the Governor of New York. I do have some control over this subcommittee, and I will exert it.

If you wish to continue having these meetings in person, you're going to have to adhere to the Attending Physician.

Let me refer you to there's several European countries that have used this approach.

I would hope that we spend a little time trying to figure out where the virus is going next so as to be prepared for it.

I'm sure that the Governor of New York's decision caused all of those nursing home deaths in Texas.

I want to thank the ranking member for calling attention to what happened last month and the month before in New York.

Ignoring science is damaging to our country.

To have the leader of this country making a mockery of wearing masks, that's what I'm talking about. That's not leadership. That's showmanship.

I don't think that the President is known for doing wise and honorable things. I think the President knows full well what he's doing. He seems to want conflict.

It's a joke. This President really needs to take stock. The people around him need to take stock.

We cannot bury our heads in the sand and hope that our economy will miraculously recover. It won't.
