it is with the greatest pleasure that I rise today to pay tribute to the Republican leader, the Honorable Senator Robert Dole, who is celebrating his 25th year of service in this body. As anyone who has been fortunate enough to meet Senator Dole knows, he is a man who has selflessly dedicated his life to serving his State and Nation. From his days as a fearless young infantryman during World War II to his brilliant leadership in the U.S. Senate, Bob Dole has never shied away from a challenge or compromised his beliefs. Such integrity and dedication has ensured his success as a county attorney; a State legislator; a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives; as chairman of the Republican National Committee; and as a U.S. Senator. Mr. President, as I am sure you are aware, I was present when Senator Dole first arrived in this House and he immediately impressed me as an individual of great ability and candor.
