Patrick Toomey is a former United States Senator from Pennsylvania, serving from 2011 to 2022. A member of the Republican Party, Toomey was known for his focus on fiscal conservatism, economic growth, and limited government. During his tenure, he served on several Senate committees, including the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, where he was involved in financial regulation and economic policy discussions.

Congress recently dedicated an unprecedented $4.6 billion to combat the opioid crisis in fiscal year 2018.

It does look like we may have turned a corner, but it certainly seems that we still have a long way to go.
Today's opioid and heroin epidemic is no different. Sadly, this is not the first time even our own Nation has found itself in the depths of a public health crisis.
It is important to make sure that funding reaches the places where it is needed the most through the programs that will be the most effective.
If mental health parity is ever going to really exist for patient care, we need to somehow address that.
