It’s inhumane. It’s traumatizing, and it’s particularly grotesque because this is then being done so private prison companies can make more profit.

We would be much better off if we were actually spending money to create a functioning immigration system.

I support H.R. 3497, the Medal of Sacrifice Act, which would award medals to honor those who lose their lives while serving as public safety officers. I encourage my colleagues to support it, too.
