Joe McDade has been under investigation for 6 years; under indictment for 2 years; he has been hurt emotionally, physically, and they were challenging the rights of the House during all this period of time. Mr. Speaker, it really is a win for the House. The House sided with him in every appeal, and I think this is a strong message that goes out that the House of Representatives is a separate body. The jury understood that. We represent people. Mr. Speaker, Joe McDade is one of the finest individuals that I have ever served with, and I have served with him for 23 years on two separate committees, and day by day we sat together. And so I am just delighted to see this, and as the dean of the Pennsylvania delegation, I join with the gentleman from Pennsylvania, Mr. Shuster, in our commendation and congratulations to Joe McDade, who is such a wonderful individual, and to his family who suffered so much during this period of time.
