I would like to add my voice to the list of those concerned of what CMS has decided on restricting coverage for antiamyloid treatment for Alzheimer's disease.

I am hopeful that you will be encouraged to see these bipartisan bills--draft as a way to address the President's Executive order by removing incentives for greater hospital and provider consolidation.

I would like to thank my colleague, Rep. Barragan, for working on legislation with me to mitigate this misguided decision and would urge that this panel take lifesaving measures to address this issue.

Are hospitals taking advantage of the 340B program and, rather than ensuring the savings are being passed onto patients, are instead using these savings to further their liberal ESG agenda?

I would like to thank you, Mr. Chairman and Ranking Member Eshoo, for the work that you have done on the MVP Act and echo my support for this important legislation.

I personally welcome that discussion. I think it is so important for patients across America.

I find it hard to believe that some hospitals complain that they are unable to shoulder the burden of transparency--they say it costs too much--yet they can afford the not-so-little cost of climate-resilient infrastructure.

It is time for Congress to intervene and stop those roadblocks from occurring.

We will also discuss two programs critical to improve the lives of people with diabetes, including Representative Bilirakis' Special Diabetes Program Reauthorization Act of 2023.

I hope that we can come to a bipartisan agreement and find the offsets needed.

We will also consider the National Nursing Workforce Center Act of 2023, led by Representative Young Kim.

I am thankful for Representative Bucshon's leadership on the Securing of the U.S. Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Act.

I am a long-time supporter of this program, which helps to bring more primary care doctors, OB-GYNs, mental health providers, and others to rural areas.

I am especially proud of the work Community Health Centers in my district are doing to expand services and increase job opportunities.

Identifying COVID-19 origins would provide greater clarity into not only the causes of the current pandemic but also the vulnerabilities to future outbreaks and strategies to prevent them.

Let me be clear. The work that this Subcommittee is conducting is critical to ensure that the destruction that was caused by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and our subsequent response is never again repeated.

And I encourage you to continue to offer those in-person meetings. As we put the pandemic in the rearview mirror, it is time to resume that person-to-person contact.

I realize my time has expired, and I would ask you to take consideration to allow all patients to have access to FDA-approved drugs.

But right now patients in rural areas who do not have access to tertiary facilities are not eligible to receive this important life-altering medicine.

As a physician, I believe that we must do more, not impede the pipeline of new life-altering therapies for patients living with rare diseases and cancers.

Unfortunately, Democrats' so-called Inflation Reduction Act threatens the continued success of the Orphan Drug Act.

I don't think there is anything that hospitals should be afraid of when it comes to 340B transparency.
