Thank you, Madam Chair, and thank you to the Capitol Police who went above and beyond to protect our Capitol on January 6. We can all agree that the actions taken by the Capitol Police officers that day were nothing short of heroic.

The Second Amendment protects Americans' constitutional right to keep and bear arms, and as a gun owner myself I have immense respect for the responsibility that comes with owning and operating a firearm.
If we're not going to protect someone's life, we're not protecting anyone else of theirs. And I think it starts right here in what we recognize as life, and it begins at conception.
