This is a really important and exciting new subcommittee.

Unfortunately and respectfully, this amendment that he has offered would violate the Byrd rule in the Senate.

It would put our troops at risk. They would be vulnerable if we were to not have a very strategic and thoughtful way of pulling them out.

We are particularly vulnerable at transitional points, as we are in right now, where we're moving from one administration to another.
