Yes, the field of human factors research clearly is a field that can make an important contribution toward reducing medical errors. I am also aware that the National Academy of Sciences has developed an expertise in this field and I would urge the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to call on the expertise of the National Academy of Sciences as it addresses the medical errors issue.
