I will pick up on comments made both by the Senator from Arizona and the Senator from Illinois. When the Senator from Illinois says if you have a 1-year extension, nobody will get serious about it until 11 months, 3 weeks, and 6 days, I agree with that. But if you have a 3-month extension, nobody will get serious about it until 2 months, 3 weeks, and 6 days. The Senator from Arizona has made the comment that we are going to be around here for a while. I usually like to agree with Senator Kyl, but I hope he is wrong about Friday, or maybe, long about Thursday, I will hope he was right about Friday. We may be here longer than Friday. But we know we have a cloture vote on Wednesday. So that means we have 2 days, which is twice as long as the Senator from Illinois postulates if we have a 1-year extension. That is twice as long, 2 days, to work on it. I do not know what the House of Representatives is going to do. I know that Chairman Sensenbrenner has been very cooperative, but I don't know what his rejoinder would be. He is talking about an extension, or I have heard a rumor that there is talk in the House about an extension for 4 years. I do not know what the President is going to do. He said he will not sign an extension. I do not know what the majority leader is going to do. He said he is not going to bring it up. But I am ready, willing, and able to sit down with the Senator from Idaho, who is in the Chamber. I cosponsored his so-called SAFE Act.…
