“I very much agree. I recognize the importance of providing early detection and diagnostic screening services to as many uninsured women as possible, and agree that the Department of Health and Human Services should consider providing the screening and diagnostic program with any unexpended or otherwise available funds under this bill in fiscal year 1998. Also, Congress and the administration should take a close look at the current program and be willing to consider further efforts to provide followup treatment for all women diagnosed with cancer through the screening program.”
