Senator Pell, we are pleased to be able to provide support in the amount of $5 million in fiscal year 1996 for the International Education Program in title VI of the Goals 2000: Educate America Act. Since this sum is one-half of the originally authorized amount for this program we would appreciate any guidance that you, as the author of this legislation and the ranking minority member of both the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Education Subcommittee, might be able to provide on the use of these funds.
