I would have voted for the Kennedy amendment... my preference would have been the Kennedy amendment because it raised the minimum wage more... I commend Senator Kennedy for his continuing efforts on the minimum wage... The last time Congress voted to raise the minimum wage was in 1996... Since 2000, the number of Americans in poverty has increased by 4.3 million for a grand total of 36 million people, which includes 13 million children.
