“that is entirely acceptable. I announce that following Senator Byrd we will be going to the Inhofe amendment. I understand they are very close on an agreement. If that agreement is reached, then I would like to move--although I am not asking consent for that now--to a 20-minute time agreement, if an agreement is reached, equally divided. If it is not reached, we will have side-by- side amendments. I alert Members as to what the schedule will be. Following that, Senator Akaka is next in line, and we are considering a time agreement there, also. I have been asked when the next vote will occur. I think we can move the bill most expeditiously if we continue to take up the amendments one at a time, but after the first votes bring all the Senators in to stack the votes. We will have a better idea as to when we will stack the votes when we have a better idea as to how many votes we will have. Meanwhile, the Judiciary Committee is meeting in executive session in the President's Room, so I ask Judiciary Committee members to go to that meeting.
