I agree with your interpretation of the committee's report. Our intent was to convey the need to redouble our efforts to successfully prevent, detect and treat breast cancer. Sufficient funding to push the boundaries of breast cancer research is essential if we are truly committed to these goals. Increased funding for the National Cancer Institute should indeed be reflected in a larger financial commitment to breast cancer research.
