These centers were established through a joint initiative of the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, and combine a new, unique, multidisciplinary approach to researching, identifying, treating, and ultimately preventing health risks posed to children by environmental hazards in the communities in which they live, play and attend school.
