James Paul Lankford is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Oklahoma since January 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Lankford has focused on issues such as healthcare, government spending, and religious freedom during his time in office. He previously served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015, representing Oklahoma's 5th congressional district.
Listening to opening statements could not have been more different, and I'm looking forward to the dialogue on that.
My own request to joint tax evaluates we do this another 5 years, it's another $18 billion in costs.
Our solemn responsibility is to hold government accountable to taxpayers because taxpayers do have the right to know what they get from their government.
That is frustrating for the people that are working there and that are doing their job.
So when the rule was changed in 2008, no one went back and confirmed it and said, hey, we need to get all of this paperwork cleaned up; we have a gap in the file----
I completely associate myself with the comments that the gentlelady just made, Ms. Speier.
Is there an assumption at all in some of your conversations that that may occur again at some point?
Yeah, we could add a lot of tax dollars to it, or deficit dollars, and say we are just going to continue to fund it that way with deficit.
What about the high-risk posts? How many posts would you consider high risk high threat at that time?
Would you agree we had an overt dependence on Libyan security that night and the security team that was local that was not sufficient for the task and that we had an overdependence on them at that point?
Would you agree we did not have a sufficient number of our own armed security forces on the ground?
It was listed as a high-risk facility, and we seem to not have a contingency plan.
I cannot imagine what it was like to start the travel here and to know that the destination was going to end up right here where you are right now after a very, very long day.
There are people all over the country that care deeply about this, small towns and big towns, and they stand with you.
And that was our concern as well that obviously the Libyan militia was not sufficient.
